Prime Minister Modi will be hosting a meeting of the Council of ministers on Wednesday to discuss many ongoing issues. It is understood that the rising cases of Omicron and the upcoming assembly elections will be on the primary agenda of the meeting.

In other news, the protests by the doctors are intensifying in the national capital. The agitation, led by the Federation of Resident Doctors' Association, entered its 13th day on Wednesday, even as patient care remained affected at three Centre-run facilities -- Safdarjung, RML and Lady Hardinge hospitals and some of the Delhi government-run hospitals.
The NEET-PG examination was postponed in 2021 owing to Covid-19, and the counselling and admission procedure has also been postponed. As a result of the delay, resident doctors are being asked to work extended hours under stressful conditions, resulting in a significant personnel shortage.
