'Cong Giving Clean Chit To Pakistan': BJP As Telangana CM Raises Doubts Over Balakot Surgical Strike

BJP came down heavily on Congress saying that the party is giving "clean chit to Pakistan" after Telangana CM Revanth Reddy raised questions over Pulwama surgical strike.

The ongoing row surrounding Congress and Pakistan, which kicked off following former Pakistan minister Fawad Chaudhary's open support for Rahul Gandhi through his social media account, will continue to simmer as the Telangana Chief Minister on Saturday raised doubts on whether or not the surgicial strike in Balakot actually happened. He also slammed PM Modi for "reaping political benefit" from the strike and flagged the Intelligence Bureau over their "failure" over the Pulwama incident.

In view of this, Bharatiya Janata Party came down heavily on Congress with the party's national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla training guns at the grand old party saying that Congress is putting India under question on the issue of terrorism by giving "clean shit" to Pakistan.

Poonawalla, while criticising the Congress party for its remarks, said: "Now it has been clear that these are not mere coincidences but well thought experiment the way Congress party is taking stands for Pakistan and terrorism and giving them the clean chit."

Referring to the recent comments by the Telangana CM, Poonawalla stated: "Now, Revanth Reddy, the Telangana CM is not only giving clean chit to Pakistan on Pulwama and alleging India but also questioning the surgical strike."

"In their attempt to oppose Modi, the Congress party is questioning the bravery of the military and putting India under question on the issue of terrorism by giving clean chit to Pakistan," he added.

The BJP national spokesperson also claimed that the Congress is doing so in a bid to protest themselves at international forums from the allegations of terrorism. "This is the real intention of Congress and hence they are getting support from Pakistan," Poonawalla alleged.

Telangana CM's Remarks On Surgical Strike After Pulwama Attack

Blaming the BJP-led Centre over its "failure' to prevent Pulwama attack, Telangana CM said: "For Modi, everything is politics, everything is about winning elections. So, Modi’s thinking is not right for the country. So, the country needs to be without BJP, without Modi now. They answer everything with ‘Jai Sri Ram’. Pulwama incident is a classic example. They have failed. What is the IB doing? What was the Intelligence network doing?"

Claiming that PM Modi attempted to extract political benefit from the Balakot surgical strike, Reddy asked: "My question to him is – What are you doing? Why did Pulwama incident happen? Why did you let it happen? What are you doing about internal security? Why did you not use agencies like IB, R&AW? It is your failure. Nobody knows to date if a surgical strike actually took place. If the responsibility of ensuring the country's internal security was with us, we wouldn't have left the country's internal security in just anyone’s hands."

BJP Reacts On Telagana CM's Remarks

Reacting to theTelangana CM's remarks, BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar Bandi also asked why Revanth Reddy was trying to give a clean chit to Pakistan on the surgical strike and Pulwama attack.

“The other day, he gets praise from Pakistan newspaper. Today he questions Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi on National security. This Congress which is responsible for Gokul chat, Mecca Masjid, Dilshuknagar, Lumbini Park Bomb blasts in Hyderabad should be last one to speak about national security. Sooner or later congress might say, even these blasts didn’t happen. It’s unfortunate and didn’t expect Telangana CM to question the sacrifices of Indian army just for cheap political mileage,” Bandi wrote in an X post.
