Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday once again took a pod shot at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said that the saffron party's 'Dostwadi' model waives friends' loans of crores of rupees but deprives common man of facilities like health and education. Further in his attack, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader also said that under BJP's model, they do not believe in giving free government education to students.

"They're (BJP) making fun of welfare schemes by saying it's a 'Revdi' and had a 'Dostwaadi' model, they won't waive off the loan of a single farmer. Under this model, they don't believe in giving free govt education to students," news agency ANI quoted Sisodia as saying.

"They (BJP) believe in ruining schools & hospitals to the extent that people are forced to go to private schools and hospitals which mostly belong to their friends. Once poor people fail to pay the fee, gates of these private institutes are shut for them," he said during a press conference at the Delhi Secretariat.

Additionally, Sisodia also pointed out that despite running free schemes in Delhi, AAP government's revenue is in surplus, while BJP state governments are still in deficit.

"The BJP terms welfare schemes for the public 'free ki rewari (sweets)' but we call it investing in our people. Yesterday, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tried to scare people by saying spending government money on public welfare will destroy the country," he pointed out.

"But it is not so. I urge them to invest in the citizens of the country instead of playing 'Dostwadi' politics," Sisodia added.

Sisodia's remarks came days after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal slammed Modi government over the latter's revdi remark and claimed that one party (Congress) did 'Parivarvad' while the other party (BJP) ruling at the Centre is doing 'Dostiwaad'.

"These people waived off the loans of Rs 10 lakh crore of their friends. Such people must be called as 'traitors' and investigation should be carried out against them." A law should be brought in to declare this 'treason' and all those involved should be sent to jail, he said.

AAP's recent 'Revdi' remark a response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's indirect jibe at Kejriwal-led Delhi government slamming the latter for giving 'freebies' to public.

While inaugurating the Bundelkhand Expressway in Uttar Pradesh last month, PM Modi had warned against what he called the 'Revdi culture' of offering freebies for votes and termed it "very dangerous".
