At least two people were injured in Delhi's Wazirabad after being attacked by a group late Thursday Night, said police as reported by news agency ANI. In a CCTV footage received by the police from the area, some people can be seen rushing towards two persons and attacking them. Some were also seen throwing bricks.
Police reached the spot after they were informed about shots fired in the air from the area around 11.15 pm on Thursday, a PTI report said.
According to the police, 10 people had come to the Ramesh Tyagi Colony area looking for a person identified as Deepak (21). However, they were not able to find him after which the group turned violent and damaged two parked motorcycles and attacked a few passers-by, Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) Sagar Singh Kalsi said, as reported by PTI.
Two persons Jatin (17) and Ajay (42) were injured in the attack. No injuries or casualties were reported by the gunshots, said Kalsi.
Seven people related to the incident have have been identified so far. Efforts are on to identify and arrest the rest. A case has been registered under various sections of the IPC and the Arms Act, reported PTI.
