New Delhi: The Bhartiya Janata Party is celebrating the 42nd foundation day today and on the special occasion Prime Minister Narendra Modi will party workers via video conference at 10 am. It will be broadcasted live on all the social media handles of the party including its website and YouTube.


"Tomorrow, 6th April is a special day for us BJP Karyakartas. We mark the foundation day of our Party. We recall all those who have built the party and served people tirelessly. At 10 AM tomorrow will be addressing fellow Karyakartas. Do join...," tweeted PM Modi on Tuesday. 


The various events planned by BJP will take place for the entire week starting from April 6 and will conclude with the commemoration of Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14. 


"Hoist the party flag with the proper procedure at 9 am. Then, embark on a procession filled with patriotic songs and slogans. Be ready by 9.45 am to listen to PM Modi's address to party workers," reads the official release from the BJP to its worker. The party workers are directed to organise various events on the block level from April 6 to 14.


In a first, BJP president J P Nadda will interact with a group of foreign envoys on the party's Foundation Day and apprise them of its ideology, culture and functioning.

Nadda's interaction with 13 ambassadors from Asian and European nations will be held under a programme, titled 'Know the BJP', being launched this year, the party's Overseas Affairs Cell in-charge Vijay Chauthaiwale said


“On Wednesday, the foundation day of the BJP, we are launching a new initiative called Know the BJP (Bhajapa ko jaaniye) for the overseas audience. Heads of 13 missions will interact with the BJP president. This is the beginning, many such programmes will be organised with foreign delegates, and apart from this party-to-party interactions will also take place,” said Vijay Chauthaiwale,.

He said a documentary on the party's journey would also be shown to the envoys at the BJP headquarters on Wednesday evening. The documentary will depict the journey of the Jan Sangh and the Bharatiya Janata Party. A special coffee-table book, "Nation First", will also be distributed among the guests, the BJP said in a statement.

The party president will talk about the party's history, struggles and successes, he said.

On the eve of the BJP Foundation Day, Prime Minister Modi urged the party workers to dedicate themselves to 'seva' as the party embarks on a "samajik nyay pakhwada" from April 7, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday laid down a detailed programme for them for every day during the 14-day long exercise.
