Bihar Elections 2020: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the man who has towered over the last two Assembly elections as the larger-than-life CM face and is known for his calm nature is now being discussed because of his rage. Nitish Kumar is being seen as an angry man who is shouting in frustration during his rallies.

'Nitish Kumar ko gussa kyon aata hai' (why does Nitish Kumar get angry) is the hot topic today as last week, the Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) chief lost his cool at a jeering crowd during a rally in Saran, that’s the question many asked — and, in politically astute Bihar, believed they had the answer to.

Nitish Kumar launches attacks on Tejashwi and Lalu Yadav

In the Teghra assembly constituency in Begusarai district Saturday, a section of the crowd raised slogans in favour of Nitish’s one-time ally and rival Lalu Prasad, to which Nitish angrily retorted: “Agal bagal dekh lo aur samajh lo, sab ka hal theek kar denge (Look around you and understand, I will fix everyone).”

He then launched an attack on Lalu’s son Tejashwi Yadav — who is leading the Rashtriya Janata Dal and its allies into battle against Nitish’s JD(U) and its allies, including the Bharatiya Janata Party — for raising the issue of education, and questioning Lalu and his wife Rabri Devi, both former CMs, for failing to build schools.

“Did they make any schools? Ask your baap (father) and mata (mother). When they were in power, they just kept taking… And when one went to jail, he made his wife the CM,” Nitish said.

At the rally for party candidate Chandrika Rai, the estranged father-in-law of the RJD’s Tej Pratap Yadav, as a section of the crowd raised ‘Lalu zindabad’ slogans, Nitish Kumar snapped: “Vote nahin dena hai to mat do, lekin yahan se chale jao (If you do not want to vote for us, it is ok, but leave.)”

The Bihar Chief Minister also asked the people attending his rally whether the people raising slogans were doing the right thing, to which the crowd replied in a big 'No'.

While JD(U) claimed that the people who raised slogans against Nitish Kumar are Rashtriya Janata Dal supporters and were sent by Tejashwi Yadav and Congres, RJD said JD(U) is making false stories to defend anti-incumbency wave against the Cheif Minister in Bihar.

Why does Nitish Kumar get angry?

But the questions is even if the people raising slogans against the Bihar CM were sent by opposition parties, as claimed by JD(U), why has Nitish Kumar's response changed this election? While many deduced, that the ground was shifting beneath the feet of the three-time CM as Bihar will be voting for NDA because of their star campaigner Narendra Modi. Many believe that the anti-incumbency wave is not against NDA or JD(U) but against one man, Nitish Kumar, which Chirag Paswan understood beforehand.

As Nitish bids for a record fourth term as CM, what’s clear, though, is that politics has come full circle for the man who had kept then Gujarat CM Narendra Modi out of Bihar during the 2009 Lok Sabha and the 2010 Assembly polls campaigns in Bihar, despite being part of the NDA in both elections.

This election, though, it’s a different Nitish. On Friday, as he spoke at a rally in Sasaram Friday, most cameras captured a telling shot. In the backdrop, framed against a diminutive Nitish, was a colossal poster of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which hints that the Bihar CM knows, wining three assembly elections was an easy road, but this election is a different bid for him.

Opinion Poll suggests there will be a tussle for CM's chair between BJP and JD(U)

After RLSP Chief Upendra Kushwaha claimed at ABP News E-Shikar Sammelan that a deal has been worked between the Prime Minister and the Bihar CM, a wave has emerged that there is a probability of BJP pitching for its own Chief Minister if they get more seats in the upcoming polls but what will happen to Nitish Kumar is still unclear.

In a survey conducted by the ABP news and C-Voter days ahead of the upcoming assembly elections of Bihar, 60 per cent of the people think that if Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) bags more seats than the Janta Dal-United (JDU) in the polls, there may be a tussle over the Chief Minister’s chair.

While Nitish Kumar is witnessing disapproval and anti slogans in his rallies, Tejashwi Yadav on the hand saw huge support as thousands of people gathered to listen to how the young leader can change Bihar. Though the opinion states that RJD likely to get 24 per cent votes whereas Congress could end up with just 6 per cent votes in the state elections.

Campaigning for the first phase will end today as Bihar will vote on Oct 28 for 71 seats. The next phases will be held on 3rd and 7th November and the result for Bihar elections 2020 will be announced on 10th November.
