As per the latest update, total 11 coaches were affected due to derailment of train in Bihar's Sahadai Buzurg. 3 out of 11 coaches had capsized.
The Prima facie cause of this accident is rail fracture of CMS X- ING at the Barauni end of the station yard.
"Death toll in Bihar train derailment climbs to seven and te number of those injured is 12. The passengers who are stuck here will be sent via roadways or rail route", Pratyay Amrit, Principal Secretary of Disaster Management Department told ABP News.
Initial reports said that nine coaches of the train had derailed and six people were dead.
As per the reports, one general coach, one AC coach B3, three sleeper coaches – S8, S9, S 10 and six more coaches have derailed, East Central Railway spokesperson Rajesh Kumar told media.
Government announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the families of those deceased. those who have been critically injured will be provided a compensation of Rs 1 lakh, while those who are not injured seriously will be announced a compensation of Rs 50,000 each.
As per the information received from Sonpur Division, the train had passed Mehnar Road at 3:52 am and derailed near Sahadai Buzurg at around 3:58 am and was running at full speed when the accident occurred.
A team of doctors and accident relief trains have been rushed to the accident site from Sonpur and Barauni. Railway accident medical van has also reached the site. NDRF team along with the local district, civil and railway administration team have also reached on the spot
Rescue and relief operation is underway. The actual cause of this accident is still to be known.
The unaffected 12 coaches of the train are being moved to Hajipur where additional coaches will be attached and the train will move for ANVT.
Railways has made adequate arrangements of food and drinking water at the accident site for all the passengers.

Chairman of Railway board, V K Yadav has left for the spot. An enquiry is to be done by Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) of the Eastern Latif Khan

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed grief over the derailment incident and has directed the administration to provide all kind of assistance.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted: “Rescue and relief operations are on for derailment of 9 coaches of Jogbani-Anand Vihar Terminal Seemanchal express at Sahadai Buzurg, Bihar.” He also shared the helpline numbers on Twitter.
PM Modi tweeted: "Deeply anguished by the loss of lives due to the derailment of coaches of the Seemanchal Express. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. May the injured recover quickly. Railways, NDRF, and local authorities are providing all possible assistance in the wake of the accident".
Congress President Rahul Gandhi also expressed his condolence towards those killed in the accident. He tweeted: "I am deeply saddened by the train accident, I express my sympathies and condolence towards the affected. I request all the local Congress workers to provide every possible assistance."
Three trains have been cancelled after the accident and three have been diverted.
