UP: 9 Out Of 18 BSP MLAs To Meet Akhilesh, Two Already In Favour Of BJP
There is less than a year left for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, due to which there is an atmosphere of political fervour. The MLAs of BSP supremo Mayawati are in a rebellious mood ahead of the elections. According to sources, 9 out of 18 MLAs from Mayawati's party will meet Akhilesh Yadav today, while two are already in favour of the BJP. The MLAs who will meet Akhilesh Yadav today include Aslam Raini, Mujtaba Siddiqui, Hakim Lal Bind, Hargovind Bhargava, Sushma Patel, Bandana Singh, Aslam Ali, Lalji Verma, and Ram Achal Rajbhar.
Bihar: Uncle Gives Nephew A Political Shock, Cloud Of Uncertainty Over Chirag's Future
In Bihar, Ram Vilas Paswan's son and LJP leader Chirag Paswan suffered a major setback, thanks to his uncle. After the revolt in the party, the Lok Sabha speaker addressed Pashupati Paras as the leader of the LJP Parliamentary Party. He replaced Chirag Paswan and got elected as the leader of the party. On Monday, Chirag Paswan drove himself to his uncle's house to meet him. But even after waiting for 20 minutes, he could not meet Pashupati Paras.
According to experts, Chirag's future in LJP is now in question. After the strife in LJP, there is a lot of speculation about the desertion of the MLAs of the Bihar Congress. In the meanwhile, all 19 Congress MLAs may be summoned to Patna today. It is to be noted that Congress leader Prem Chand Mishra blamed the JDU over the LJP breakdown and said the JDU keeps breaking parties.
Punjab: Sidhu Showing Signs Of Rebellion, Congress High Command To Make A Decision
Political temperatures soaring in Punjab ahead of the elections. Reports of a rift between Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu and Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh are now widely known. The rift between these two important leaders can harm the party ahead of the polls which will take place next year.
Sensing the gravity of the situation, Congress has formed a three-member panel. The panel has spoken to all the leaders of the Punjab Congress, including Sidhu and the Captain. The panel has submitted its report and the Congress high command has to take a call. There has been a spat between Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and party leader Navjot Singh Sidhu. MLA Pargat Singh and a few other leaders of the State Congress Committee have also protested against the Chief Minister.
Rajasthan: Pilot And Gehlot Involved In Political Strife Since Last Year
The Sachin Pilot Group in Rajasthan has been upset for nearly a year. The situation was restored last year after senior Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi intervened, but the Pilot group has made its intentions clear this time. After losing Jyotiraditya Scindia in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress won't want to take any risks regarding Sachin Pilot in Rajasthan.
In the midst of the rising tension in the Rajasthan Congress and the acrimonious attitude of the Pilot camp, Congress has intensified internal dialogue between all departments and there is a possibility of a reshuffle in the state cabinet soon. Sources said discussions are on to include all sections in the nine vacant posts of the state cabinet.
Senior leaders, including Congress Rajasthan in-charge General Secretary Ajay Maken, are in discussions with the leaders of various camps to address their grievances. Maken is believed to have held discussions with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot.
Bengal: Senior BJP Leader Mukul Rai Returns To TMC Others In Queue
In West Bengal, the BJP used all its might to win the assembly elections and yet could not defeat Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. After TMC's victory in Bengal, there is a stir among the turncoats who left the TMC and joined the BJP. After the return of Mukul Roy to the TMC, there has been a wave of hope amongst those returning to the TMC in Bengal.
Shubhendu Adhikari, who left the TMC and joined the BJP, said he would apply for action against Mukul Roy if he did not resign as MLA. In the BJP, questions are now being raised about leaders coming from the TMC. Regarding these questions, senior BJP leader Swapan Dasgupta said on Monday that it would not be right to see every leader who joined the BJP in West Bengal after 2019 as a 'defector.'
