Bhartiya Janata Party announced the names of 27 candidates for 3rd phase & 38 candidates for 4th phase of polls in West Bengal.


BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh held a press conference and announced Locket Chatterjee has been fielded from Chunchura while Babul Supriyo is up from the Tollygung assembly seat. 


Economist Ashok Lahiri will contest from Alipurduar, Rajib Banerjee from Domjur, & Rabindranath Bhattacharya from Singur, BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh said at a press conference on Sunday. 


Swapan Das Gupta has been fielded from Tarakeswar Assembly seat, MP Nisith Pramanik from Dinhata, while Actor Yash Das Gupta will contest from Chanditala. Payal Sarkar will contest from Behala East, Dr. Indraneel Khan from Kasba and Tanushree Chakraborty from Howrah Shyampur.



BJP has already announced 58 candidates for the West Bengal assembly election 2021. In the first list, the party fielded newly inducted Suvendu Adhikari against his former colleague and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee.


Elections to the 294-member West Bengal assembly will be held in eight phases from 27 March to 29 April. Votes will be counted on 2 May.


1st phase: Date of poll- 27 March


2nd phase: date of poll - 1 April


3rd phase: Date of poll - 6 April


4th phase: Date of poll - 10 April


5th phase: Date of poll -17 April


6th phase: Date of poll - 22 April


7th phase: Date of poll- 26 April


8th phase: Date of poll -29 April
