West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, who has been at loggerheads with the saffron party in the run-up to the state assembly polls, on Monday came up with a new slogan ‘Hare Krishna Hare Ram, Vidaa Ho BJP Vaam’ to counter BJP.

Banerjee, who made this slogan while addressing an election rally in West Bengal’ Hubli, asked the crowd whether they insult the guests if they invite them at home. The Chief Minister’s outburst followed Saturday’s incident at Kolkata's Victoria memorial where she walked off the dais where the Parakram Divas celebrations - marking Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's birth anniversary was held.

The TMC chief fumed at the 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans raised prior to her speech on Saturday and refused to speak at the event while terming it an insult to the invitee. This took place when she was called to address the crowd ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address. The TMC chief used the occasion to take potshots at the CPM and Congress as well.

“The CPM, Congress, and BJP are three brothers – Jagai, Madhai, and Gadai,” she said.

Banerjee also hit out at the TMC turncoats who have recently joined the BJP.

“The BJP is a washing machine. We will take only respectable people in the TMC and not thieves. I will ask the respectable people in the other parties to hurry up as the train is about to leave. You are joining the BJP as the TMC is not giving you ticket to contest the polls,” she said.

Several TMC leaders, including political heavyweight Suvendu Adhikari, have quit the party to join the BJP in the run up to the West Bengal assembly polls.
