‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ owner Kanta Prasad who shot to fame on social media after his viral video, has now alleged that he received death threats by unknown persons and has filed a complaint at the Malviya Nagar police station citing threat to his life.

In his complaint, Kanta Prasad has said that he got the first threat call on December 8, when an unknown caller threatened to set his shop on fire and kill him. He has stated that another call was received on December 14. When he went to his shop in the morning, he encountered a group of boys who ordered tea from his shop. One among them threatened him and said he didn’t do the right thing by filing complaint against YouTuber Gaurav Wasan. The boy allegedly threatened to kill Prasad and said “Chatka doon kya?”

Delhi Police is probing the matter

As per the officials of Delhi Police, a probe has been initiated after Baba lodged a complaint. Police is also looking into the CCTC footages of cameras installed in the area where the shop is located, in order to identify the men who had gone to the Dhaba that day.

What’s the story of Kanta Prasad and Gaurav Wasan?

Gaurav Wasan is a YouTuber who made the video of Kanta Prasad where he was seen sharing the story of how lockdown had affected his income. The video went viral on social media with support pouring in for Prasad from all around the country. In the following days, a massive turnout was seen at his shop.

People also donated huge sums of money for the old restaurant owner. However, Baba later accused Wasan of misappropriation of the the funds. Police booked YouTuber Gaurav Wasan for cheating and initiated the investigation in the alleged misappropriation of donation funds.
