ATMs without money: 'Request everyone to draw cash they actually require', says Shaktikanta Das
New Delhi: The Economic Affairs Secretary, on Wednesday, clarified that government will not going to introduce ₹1000 notes soon and advised the people to withdraw cash from ATMs as per their requirements.
"No plans to introduce ₹1000 notes. Focus is on production & supply of ₹500 & lower denomination notes", tweeted Shaktikanta Das.
He also said that the present concentration is on "production and supply" of existing notes.
Complaints regarding cash out in ATMs being looked into, he added. "Complaints of cash out in ATMs being addressed. Request everyone to draw the cash they actually require. Overdrawal by some deprives others", Das tweeted.No plans to introduce ₹1000 notes. Focus is on production and supply of ₹500 and lower denomination notes.
