Article 370 Verdict: The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has claimed that chief Mehbooba Mufti was put under house arrest ahead of the Supreme Court's verdict on pleas challenging the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution that ended the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. J&K LG Manoj Sinha has refuted the claim.
The party posted on X: "Even before Supreme Court judgement is pronounced, police has sealed the doors of the residence of PDP president @MehboobaMufti and put her under illegal house arrest," the party said in a post on X.
Meanwhile, J&K LG Manoj Sinha has refuted the claim and dubbed it 'totally baseless'. He said the claim of house arrest or arrest of anyone ahead of the Supreme Court verdict on Article 370 was 'totally baseless', news agency PTI reported.

The Srinagar Police has also denied all the claims pertaining to the house arrest of Mufti.
Meanwhile Jammu & Kashmir National Conference has also claimed that party Vice President Omar Abdullah
has been "locked up inside his house". "Early this morning, JKNC VP @OmarAbdullah was locked up inside his house. What a shame!" JKNC said on X.
The Supreme Court is set to announce its verdict on a batch of petitions challenging the abrogation of the provisions of Article 370 on Monday. The Central government in 2019 decided to revoke the said article, which bestowed a special status on the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The apex court had on September 5 reserved its verdict in the matter after a 16-day hearing. The arguments had commenced on August 2.
A five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud will deliver the verdict today. Other bench members are Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Sanjiv Khanna, B R Gavai, and Surya Kant, reported PTI. Several petitions were filed challenging the abrogation of Article 370 and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019 that divided the erstwhile state into two union territories - Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. The pleas were later referred to a Constitution bench in 2019.
