At most places the celebrating youths kept bursting firecrackers and dancing on the streets in Farah Kadal and Sekidafar areas of old city in Srinagar. Thrashed by India in the opening match for both teams, Pakistan inflicted an even bigger defeat in the final. Chasing a challenging total of 339 runs, India bowed down before the Pakistani bowlers and got all out for mere 158 runs in 33.3 overs. While Sarfraz could hardly contain himself, India captain Virat Kohli was gracious despite the margin being an embarrassing (and unbelievable) 180 runs.
