New Delhi: Amid heated political scenario in the country over the demand of constructing Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a fresh demand over construction of a Saraswati temple in Aligarh Muslim University has come to light. The demand has put AMU in a fresh controversy. Student leader Thakur Ajay Singh has demanded that AMU should have one Saraswati temple.

Besides Saraswati temple, the student has demanded a construction of Gurudwara in the campus. Pressing his demands for the same, the student has written a letter to the Vice Chancellor.  Ajay Singh is a maternal grandson of BJP MLA from Aligarh Thakur Dalvir Singh. Even MLA Dalvir Singh has expressed support for his grandson’s demand has said that “AMU has 20% Hindu students; along with a mosque, there should also be a Gurudwara,a temple and a Church.”

The demand raised by the AMU student is likely to catalyze the politics in the coming time.

The demand has been made by AMU’s Hindu students’ leader after statements were made by AMU students Union over the recent hustle over ban on reading namaz in Noida park, a ban levied by Noida police itself.

In the demand, he has asked to construct the temple in front of library.
