New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday lauded PM Narendra Modi-led Union government for resolving the issue of Bodoland as he addressed the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Ramakrishna Mission in Arunachal Pradesh. "After so many years, the Prime Minister of the country has done the work of solving the problem of Bodoland easily. Narendra Modi's government has done the work of getting weapons to Hathiyari groups of Tripura. The Modi government has done the work of giving a permanent solution to the problem of Bru refugees," the former BJP president said, as quoted by news agency ANI.
Amit Shah who is on a two-day visit to Arunachal Pradesh said that the inter-state boundary dispute between Assam and Arunachal will be resolved by next year, news agency PTI reported.
The Home Minister said, "We have faced problems for many years in the Northeast. Now the problems are gradually resolving."
"PM Modi started working to elevate Northeast's suffering from 2014. The whole country loves its Northeast as its own and Northeast is also saying with pride today that we are a part of this great India, we are India," he added.
According to Amit Shah, in 8 years of the Modi government, the youth Northeastern youth "who wandered, stood in front of their own country with weapons in their hands, are working for the development of India by joining the mainstream."
As efforts underway to make NE insurgency-free are underway, 9,000 militants of the region returned to the mainstream in the last 8 years, as per the Home Minister.
Earlier in the day, the Union Minister of Home and Cooperation unveiled the statue of Swami Vivekananda, the great social reformer and inspiration of youth at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram located in Arunachal's Narottam Nagar.

Amit Shah's Two-Day Arunachal Pradesh Visit
This is Amit Shah's second visit to Arunachal Pradesh as the Union Home minister.
He had last visited Arunachal Pradesh in 2020 to attend the 34th statehood day celebrations.
China had then objected to his visit as the neighbouring country lays claim over the territory.
During his visit, Shah will lay the foundation of a 51-feet-statue of sage Parshuram at Wakro in Lohit district, besides launching around 40 projects, PTI reported officials as saying.
On Sunday, he will meet social organisations and also offer puja at the Golden Pagoda near Tengapani in Namsai district.
Later, Shah will address a public meeting on Namsai general ground and launch important projects, officials said, as per PTI.
The home minister will also chair a security and development review meeting with Army, ITBP, SSB, Assam Rifles, BRO, and National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation LTD (NHIDCL) personnel at Namsai and attend a banquet with them before leaving for Delhi, they added.
Shah's visit to Arunachal Pradesh is part of the mega cross-country tour during which he has been attending several public, political and official events.
The Home Minister has already visited Assam, Telangana, Kerala, and Uttarakhand as part of the tour and would be visiting Maharashtra and Gujarat next on May 27 and 28 respectively.
