The Amarnath Yatra has been suspended after the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway had to be temporarily blocked due to a landslide at T2 Marog Ramban on the early hours of Wednesday. The Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police advised people not to travel on NH-44 without confirmation from TCUs (Traffic Control Unit), reported news agency ANI. Visuals from Srinagar's Pantha Chowk (the area from where pilgrims residing in the base camp leave for the holy cave shrine) has been shared by ANI.
Just a few days back, another landslide had hit Jammu-Srinagar National Highway's T2 Tunnel which led to the suspension of the Amarnath Yatra at Yatri Niwas, Chanderkote in the Ramban district, reported news agency ANI.
News agency PTI shared the visuals of the landslide from the site on their social media handle with a caption saying, "Jammu-Srinagar National Highway blocked due to heavy landslide at T2 tunnel near Keela Morh in Ramban district."
Following that incident, the police issued an advisory stating that people should avoid the said route till the restoration work gets completed on the stretch.

Earlier on Saturday, another landslide was reported in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag in which at least three people died and 17 were reported to be missing. The incident took place just 16 kilometres from Kedarnath. Following the incident, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) launched a search & rescue operation into the matter.
