AMU Vice-Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor, extending gratitude to the PM said that the university is very thankful for his acceptance to participate in the celebration.
“The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) community is thankful for his acceptance to participate in the celebrations marking 100 years of the university,” Prof Mansoor said.
"The outreach of the university during this historical year will also immensely help in its growth and development, and in the placement of our students in private and public sectors," he said.
The VC also appealed to the university community to put in all efforts for the success of the forthcoming events of the centenary anniversary, and the staff members, students, alumni, and AMU well-wishers for active participation.

Prof Mansoor keeping in view of the upcoming event, appealed to all concerned people to keep the centenary program above politics like the Republic Day, Independence Day, and Gandhi Jayanti.
Earlier this month, the university had announced that President Ram Nath Kovind was expected to be the chief guest at the centenary celebrations.
According to sources, the change of the chief guest appears to a last-minute move of the University's administration.
Sir Syed Ahmed Khan established the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College in 1875, which was later renamed Aligarh Muslim University in December 1920, following a gazette notification. The college which was transformed into a university was formally inaugurated on December 17, 2020.
