New Delhi: Alleged middleman in AgustaWestland case Christian Michel is to be produced before Delhi court upon the expiration of his second five-day custody.
Michel’s CBI remand was extended by Delhi court on December 10 by five days. The CBI was seeking a nine-day remand of Michel for his custodial interrogation. It said that Michel needs to be confronted with more documents, including LR (letters rogatory) that have been received from five countries. Michel has not joined investigation with the Italian investigators as well for the last six years, CBI had told the court on Monday, pressing for nine-day custody of the extradited middleman.
The court however extended the custody by five days.
Michel was sent to five days CBI custody on December 5. He arrived in Delhi in the early hours of the same day after he was extradited from Dubai.
54-year-Michel is an accused in the 3,600 crore AgustaWestland VIP helicopter deal finalised during UPA government, along with some others.
