New Delhi: The call for the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya has grown stronger within the Bharatiya Janta Party leaders ahead of the parliamentary elections next year. At one hand, around 3000 saints from all the 125 Hindu communities reiterated the demand, and on the other, the government’s ministers too have come up pushing for the construction of the temple in Ayodhya. Minister of state for parliamentary affairs and statistic and implementation in Modi led NDA government Vijay Goel organised an event named ‘Jalao Ek Deeya Ram Mandir ke Naam' campaign, to express solidarity for construction of Ram Mandir In Ayodhya. In the event the BJP ministers lit earthen lamps in front of the proposed Ram Temple model.

 Vijay Goel said on the occasion: “Ministers too are citizens of the country and they too can have emotions. Every year we celebrate Diwali in Ayodhya to mark the arrival of Lord Rama. Today, we are lighting ‘diyas’ to express ourselves on the matter. Whether through Supreme Court’s verdict or by passing bill in the parliament, the temple needs to be erected as soon as possible.

Hitting out at Congress he said: “if those who call this an electoral agenda, would have supported the cause, it would never become an agenda.”


Goel also tweeted - Lightened 5000 “diyas” and appeal to all fellow citizens that this Diwali every citizen, must light a “Diya” with a hashtag #JalaaoEkDiyaRamMandirKeNaam as a symbolic gesture to express solidarity as a nation for the construction of a glorious Ram temple in Ayodhya.


In the event organsied at the official residence of Goel,  Union Minister of State for the Law and Justice and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs P P Chowdhary, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs of India Kiren Rijiju also participated. They said that the demands of the crores of Indians , is their demand.


BJP workers said that they want Modi government to legislate on the matter and erect the temple by the next year so that they can light ‘diyas’ inside the temple next Diwali.
