Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday stated that the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya has reached the halfway point and will be finished by the end of 2023.
Adityanath stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) initially approved a resolution for the temple's construction in Palampur while campaigning for party candidate Trilok Kapoor in the seat before the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections.
"Today, I am delighted to inform you from this place that the construction work of the Ram temple in Ayodhya has crossed the halfway mark and by the end of 2023, a grand temple will be constructed after a wait of more than 500 years," Adityanath was quoted as saying while addressing a rally in Palampur by news agency PTI.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had claimed on November 4 during an election rally in Himachal Pradesh that the grand temple in Ayodhya will be India's "national temple."
He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's determined and strong leadership for the temple's construction, calling it a "historic work."
The Uttar Pradesh government is constructing numerous linked infrastructure and development projects in the temple town with the objective of making it an international tourism destination.
As the Ram Temple is slated to be completed in early 2024, the UP government is constructing infrastructure to make the temple town a tourism destination; the building of an airport, railway facilities, new roads, and medical facilities is proceeding at a rapid rate, The Hindu reported.
Adityanath stated that all significant choices, such as the construction of the Ram Temple, the repeal of Article 370, and surgical strikes, would not have been feasible under Congress's control since it is unconcerned about such concerns.
In a bid to keep the BJP in power, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister said the state has seen all-round progress under the party's "double engine" government.
The chief minister also campaigned for Lokendra Kumar, the BJP's Anni constituency candidate.
Addressing a rally, he stated that India's graph on the global stage is growing and that no crisis in the world can be handled without India's engagement.
According to him, India has surpassed the United Kingdom to become the world's fifth-largest economy, PTI reported.
"During the pandemic, India supplied free rations to crores of impoverished people across the country, while BJP activists assisted them. Where was the Congress's brother-sister pair back then? "At the gathering, he made a reference to Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
"Congress is only concerned with one family," he continued, "but Narendra Modi and the BJP are concerned with the entire country."
Adityanath referred to Himachal Pradesh as the "Land of Bravehearts" since countless young people from the state service in the military services, saying, "You all would be happy to know that now our adversaries cannot dare to look at us." And it is because the country's Bravehearts "conducted surgical strikes within enemy regions," according to Adityanath, who has been campaigning extensively across the hill state, PTI reported.
Adityanath stated that the fact that both BJP president J P Nadda and Union Minister Anurag Thakur are from Himachal Pradesh demonstrates the importance of the state to the saffron party.
On November 12, elections for the 68-member Himachal Pradesh Assembly are scheduled. The ruling BJP is at odds with the Congress.
