ABP Bengal Opinion Poll: Mamata Banerjee Likely To Return To Power, BJP Not Far Behind - Know Mood Of Voters

ABP C-Voter West Bengal Elections 2021 Opinion Poll: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to get tough competition with the BJP as saffron party's aggressive campaigning in West Bengal might give it significant inroads in the state.

ABP C-Voter West Bengal Elections 2021 Opinion Poll: As the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday evening announced the dates for much-awaited Assembly Elections in West Bengal, ABP News along with C-Voter conducted an opinion poll to gauge the mood of voters in the states which is its final stage of triangular battle between ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress-Left alliance.

ABP News Opinion Poll data shows that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to get tough competition with the BJP as saffron party's aggressive campaigning in West Bengal might give it significant inroads in the state.

As per the survey, which was conducted days ahead of the poll announcement, Mamata Banerjee-led TMC will return to power in the West Bengal and is likely to bag somewhere between 148 to 164 seats in the 294-member legislative assembly.

TMC, however, will get a close competition with BJP which is expected to increase its tally in the state assembly by winning somewhere close to 92-108 seats. It is to be noted that the saffron party managed to win only 3 seats in West Bengal in the 2016 Assembly polls.

Meanwhile, eyeing at a massive setback, Congress which is contesting West Bengal Assembly Polls in alliance with Left parties, is expected to win 31-39 seats in the state. In 2016 Assembly Polls, the alliance had bagged 76 seats in the state. Congress-Left's dip in seats is directly benefitting the saffron party.

ABP News Opinion Poll: Region-Wise Vote Share

The ABP News Opinion Poll shows that the Trinamool Congress will manage to secure close to 43 per cent vote share in West Bengal Polls whereas the BJP may get close to 38 per cent votes. Congress - Left parties alliance fails to deter TMC and BJP's bull run and might get restricted with mere 13 per cent votes in the states. Other parties and independent candidates may get close to 6 per cent vote share.

West Bengal Assembly Election Schedule

The Election Commission on Friday announced that West Bengal will go for polls in as many as eight phases starting March 27. Counting of votes will be held on May 2. Along with West Bengal, other states including Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Union Territory of Puducherry will also go for polls. Check full schedule here.

Soon after the dates of Assembly polls were announced, Mamata Banerjee lashed out at the EC and questioned the intention behind conduction Bengal elections in eight phases. West Bengal CM has raised questions on the Election Commission claiming that the eight-phase voting in Bengal was part of a "conspiracy" by the Centre's ruling BJP.
