3 sisters die of starvation: Sisodia meets their 'mentally unstable' mother in hospital
East Delhi MP Maheish Girri accused Sisodia of lying, saying he had visited the family members of the deceased. Dismissing Sisodia's claim that the family came to Mandavali just two days ago, he said the family has been living there for years.
New Delhi: Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on Thursday met the mother of three dead children who allegedly died due to starvation. Sisodia told reporters that the woman who is mentally unstable would receive complete medical treatment in government hospital.
‘This is very concerning as it has happened in the nation’s capital. We are providing the family a financial aid of Rs 25, 000,”
He said the police are finding out the father of the children who rides a cycle-rickshaw for a living. “Once he is identified we will open a bank account of his and provide him more financial help.”
Reports say the girls' father used to pull a rickshaw he had rented. After it was stolen a few days ago, they were brought to the Mandawli area by a friend, who had given them shelter at his residence.
It is suspected that the girls had not eaten for days, and on Monday, their father had arranged food but since they were unwell, they could not eat, police said.
Locals said the family had shifted to the area on Saturday, and they did not have much interaction with them. The family who had given them shelter said the children were given food which included chicken to eat on Monday.

Sisodia today said we are not politicising the issue. “We are against the loot of ration. I am saying our option of door step delivery scheme is to those who do not get ration.”
The Delhi government has ordered a magisterial probe into the deaths.
