New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Thursday that 115-foot tricolours have been installed at 75 locations in the national capital.

Kejriwal said it is a proud day for the country on the official twitter handle of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday.

He said that the national flag was installed at 75 locations across Delhi to celebrate 75 years of India's independence.

Tricolours To Be Installed At 500 Locations In Delhi

In a video posted by the official handle of AAP, Kejriwal can be heard saying that a total of 500 flags will be installed in the national capital in the first phase.

He said that the party's target was to install the tricolours by January 26, but there was a ban on construction due to Covid-19, pollution, and other reasons.

He further said that the tricolours will be installed at 500 locations in Delhi within the next few months.

Kejriwal further said their aim is that everyone will see the flag at least two to three times a day. "Every time we see the national flag, a sense of patriotism rises within us," he said.

He said that normally, people get so engrossed in their mundane life that they sometimes forget their country, and society.

Whenever a person will see the national flag, it will remind the person of patriotism, of the country, and of all the people who sacrificed everything for the country's independence, Kejriwal further said.

He also said that Delhi is probably the only city in the world where 115-foot high national flags have been installed at so many places.

"Delhi's name will be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records!", he exclaimed.

Towards the end, he congratulated the people of Delhi, and everyone in the country, and said he prays to the Almighty that our national flag remains high forever.
