11% Of Total Covid Cases In Country Reported In Persons Aged Below 20: Govt Tells Parliament

New Delhi: Around 11 per cent of the total Covid-19 cases in the country have been reported in persons aged less than 20. The Minister of State for Health Bharti Pawar gave this information in the Lok Sabha earlier in the day. Pawar gave the details of Covid-19 vaccines for children in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha.

The Minister of State for Health said that the National Regulator CDSCO has approved Bharat Biotech, Hyderabad (aged 2 to 18 years) for Phase II and III clinical trials of Whole-virion Inactivated SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine for COVID-19 in children and Cadila Healthcare. Ltd., Ahmedabad (aged 12 years and above) for Phase III trial of a DNA-based vaccine.

Railways lost its 2,903 employees due to Covid epidemic: Government

The government said on Friday that 2,903 railway employees have lost their lives due to the Covid-19 epidemic. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply to a question that in 2,782 cases of railway workers who lost their lives due to Covid, the dues to be paid to the kin of the deceased have been paid.

He said, "As per the policy of Indian Railways, the dependents of the personnel who lost their lives in service are given jobs on compassionate grounds. The dependents of the families of railway workers who lost their lives due to the Kovid-19 epidemic have been kept under the scheme of jobs on compassionate grounds.

Be careful about Covid-19, next three months are very important: Paul

NITI Aayog member V. K. Paul asked the Delhi government to be careful as the next three months are very crucial and unlocking activities may lead to an increase in the cases of coronavirus. In a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) held on July 9, he suggested that the metropolitan government should contact the Center before imposing any kind of travel restrictions in the capital. 

Dr. Paul said that "unlocking activities can lead to an increase in cases. Although at present the infection rate is the lowest. The details of the meeting were made public on July 20. NITI Aayog member (health) said, "The next three months are crucial, we need to be careful."
