A day after recording a significant drop in the number of daily Covid-19 cases, India on second straight day reported improvement in the gragh. As per the latest data provided by the Union Health Ministry, India reported 3,29,942 new Covid cases, 3,56,082 discharges and 3,876 deaths in the last 24 hours. 


With this, the total cases of Coronavirus recorded in India so far are 2,26,62,575 while the death tollstands at 2,49,992. Total discharges till date are 1,90,27,304 while there are 37,15,221 active cases of Covid-19 in the country. The average growth rate of active cases in India stands at 1.34%.

As reported by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 30,56,00,187 samples have been tested up to 10th May 2021, for COVID-19. Of these, 18,50,110 samples were tested yesterday. 


The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country stands at 17,26,33,761. 5,18,479 beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years received their first dose of COVID vaccine on Monday and cumulatively 25,52,843 across 30 States/UTs since the start of Phase-3 of the vaccination drive.

Two of the worst hit states - Delhi and Maharashtra witnessed signs of slight slowdown in fatalities as well as fresh cases of Coronavirus. In the national capital, for the first time in days, recoveries surpassed fresh infections.


Delhi reported 12,651 new COVID-19 cases, 319 deaths and 13,306 recoveries. With this, the total cases recorded till date are 13,36,218 while the death toll stands at 19,663. There are at least 85, 258 active cases of Coronavirus in Delhi.
