Hyundai Elantra receives 1,100 bookings since launch

New Delhi: Hyundai had earned a name for itself in India with smaller offerings beginning with the Santro. The Korean manufacturer further built on this reputation with the likes of the Grand i10 as the years rolled; but since the past 12-18 months, it has been breaking new grounds with more premium products like the Creta SUV. And its latest premium sedan, the Elantrahas helped strengthen its reputation further as a premium carmaker, by receiving a sizeable number of reservations since its launch in August. The car has received bookings of more than 1,100 units and 18,000 enquiries within six weeks of its launch, informed the country’s second largest carmaker in a statement. Following this, senior vice president (sales and marketing, Hyundai Motors India Ltd (HMIL), Rakesh Srivastava said that the company is ‘overwhelmed’ by the response to the Elantra. “All round excellence and great experience are the true expressions that are associated with the All New Elantra. We thank our customers and reaffirm our commitment to the customers by reducing the waiting period for Elantra so as to love and enjoy new world-class products,” he added. READ: New Elantra review The Chennai-based manufacturer’s first new offering this year, the sixth-gen Elantra has received a complete makeover with Hyundai’s new Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. At the heart of things too, the sedan has been mounted with an all-new 1999cc petrol mill that produces 152PS of power and 192Nm of torque. The diesel, on the other hand, is the familiar 1.6-litre diesel that has been re-tuned to churn out 128Ps and 260Nm.
