Honda Commences National Road Safety Summer Camp For Children

Honda has commenced its national road safety summer camp for kids for the current year on 21 May. The event will conclude on 15 June 2018. It will see the participation of over 4500 children from 8 cities: Karnal, Ludhiana, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Chandigarh, and Coimbatore.

The Honda National Road Safety summer camp kick-started in Delhi at the Baba Kharak Singh Marg and Roshanara Bagh traffic training park, with over 800 children taking part in the event. 

 

Below is the agenda for the summer camp:

Students in the age group 9 to 12 years will learn about two-wheelers and importance of  riding gear on specially imported 50cc CRF 50 motorcycles.

Specially trained instructors will educate children about the do’s and don’ts while commuting in a school bus and cycling.

Safety champs will participate in a ‘Best Road Safety Slogan’ competition.

Delhi police who have teamed up with Honda will teach self-defense to the participants.

Educational activities like road safety games and quizzes will be conducted every day.

New Delhi, May 21, 2018: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. today announced the commencement of national road safety summer camp for school children in 8 cities.

Engaging over 4,500 children nationally, Honda’s national road safety summer camp will also be conducted in Karnal, Ludhiana, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Chandigarh, and Coimbatore. Developing children as Safety Champs it is essential to inculcate road safety as a daily habit in all aspects starting as a pedestrian to a rider.

Part of Honda’s #HelmetOnLifeOn initiative, in Delhi the summer camps will take place in Baba Kharak Singh Marg and Roshanara Bagh traffic training park. Honda will educate over 800 children on road safety between May 21 and June 15, 2018 in the summer camps.

Vowing to make Indian roads safe for all, Honda aims to catch them young and develop children as Safety Champs in all aspects of road safety starting as a pedestrian to a rider. Honda wants to make road safety as a daily habit which will last for a lifetime.

Speaking on the significance of this summer camp, Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President, Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “As a responsible two-wheeler manufacturer, Honda is fully committed towards road safety & has so far educated 18.8 lac Indians. This summer vacation, Honda is joining hands with state government authorities to conduct national road safety summer camp at its traffic training parks and will educate over 4,500 children. Honda firmly believes that children are the nation builders of tomorrow. Learning about road safety early in life will make them act as a check on parents, introducing safe riding habits in them.”
