New Delhi: President of Aam Aadmi Party Himachal Pradesh Unit, Anoop Kesari, secretary Satish Thakur, and Una president Iqbal Singh joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday at JP Nadda’s residence, reported news agency ANI.
The three former AAP leaders were inducted into the party by Union Minister Anurag Thakur.
The former AAP Himachal Pradesh president alleged that party workers from Himachal Pradesh were neglected and there was a disregard towards the people of the state.
“We were toiling for AAP for the last 8 yrs but it neglected state party workers & there was disregard towards the people of Himachal Pradesh. During a rally in Mandi, no space was given to any leader from the state other than Delhi & Punjab CMs,” said Anoop Kesari, quoted by the news agency.
Union Minister targeted Aam Aadmi Party national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal saying that the latter did not pay attention to his party workers who worked hard on the ground for eight years.
“Arvind Kejriwal does not pay attention to his party workers. Those who shed their sweat on the ground for 8 years did not even get a chance to stand on their chariots. These AAP leaders have joined BJP for their self-respect and self-respect of Himachal,” the Union Minister said.
In response to the development, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia claimed that the party was going to expel the leaders who have joined BJP.
"At 12 o'clock in the night, BJP national president (JP Nadda) and his Union Minister (Anurag Thakur) hold press conferences and induct a person from the AAP party against whom AAP has received complaints of misbehavior with women," Manish Sisodia said.
"A man against whom we were about to conduct an inquiry and the person we were about to expel from the party has been welcomed by the BJP into its party," he claimed, as quoted by ANI.
