#XiaomiJawabDo started trending on Twitter after popular Tech Youtuber Gaurav Chaudhary reported an issue with Xiaomi's weather app that is not showing results for Itanagar and Arunachal Pradesh.

Checking on a Xiaomi phone, the issue currently appears to be genuine as the weather app does not show any results for the said places.

Whereas another popular Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus, owned by BBK Electronics, is displaying the results for it on its weather app.

The issue has quickly taken a political turn as Xioami's direct link to China is being brought in. Several users on Twitter started trending a hashtag: #XioamiJawabDo. They have asked the company to resolve the issue and clarify its stance in the present circumstances of the faceoff between India and China with the latter refusing to recognise Arunachal Pradesh as Indian territory.

Here are some of the tweets from the Twitter trend:

"Our position on Arunachal Pradesh has also been made clear several times. Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of India. This fact has also been clearly conveyed to the Chinese side on several occasions, including at the highest level," MEA spokesperson Anurag Srivastava had said a few days ago clarifying India's position over the disagreement with China.

Xiaomi's Response

The company shared its response with ABP Live wherein the Mi India spokesperson acknowledged the matter calling it a technical error and assured that the issue will be resolved.

"At Mi India, we take great pride in the love and trust that our fans and consumers across the country have bestowed on us. We would like to clarify that the weather app on our devices uses data from multiple third-party data sources and we understand that for many locations, the weather-related data is not available on the current app. This is a technical error on our application," - spokesperson, Mi India.

"That said, we are working on improving the app to get the best experience for our users. As always, we are committed to India and our users across the country to provide them with the best possible user experience," the spokesperson added.
