"Sorry, something went wrong. We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can. Instagram simply admitted: Oops, an error occurred," said a message issued by Facebook for users at the time of logging in. Likewise on Instagram, features like Stories and the main feed are working fine. But the feed of user profiles aren’t loading at all.
"We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing Facebook’s family of apps, including Instagram. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. #InstagramDown," a tweet from Instagram official Twitter handle read.
Both Instagram and Facebook are owned by social media giant Facebook Inc. Instant messaging service application, which is owned by the company, is said to be working fine. Soon after the outage took place, several users of the social media apps took to micro-blogging site Twitter complain about the issue.
Hashtags - #InstagramDown and #FacebookDown - started trending on Twitter as thousands of users started raising concern about the outage including some who still managed to find PUN on the issue.
