Puducherry: New controversy stirs as Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy mistranslates a fisherwoman's complaints to compliments as he mistranslated for Rahul Gandhi. BJP shared the video and accused them of lying. Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi is on a two-day visit to Puducherry amid the going political rift in the union territory. During one of his interactions with fishermen community for which he was accompanied by CM Narayanasamy, a woman from Solai Nagar got up and shared her woes, she complained that the Congress leader that the Chief Minister did not even visit her family in the aftermath of a cyclone. CM Narayanasamy purposely mistranslated it for Rahul Gandhi and said she was praising the work he done after the cyclone.

During his interaction with the fisher community, a fisherwoman spoke in Tamil and complained about how the CM Narayanasamy didn't even pay a visit, she said "the Sea has been like this only. Nobody gave as any kind of support. Even him (Narayanasamy), did he care to visit us during cyclone aftermath?"



But when Rahul Gandhi turned to Puducherry CM Narayanasamy for a translation he straight up lied to him and said "During Cyclone Nivar, I came and visited the area, I gave her relief. That is what she is telling." BJP leaders shared the video to poke fun at Congress, BJP member CT Ravi tweeted as said that Congress leaders are competing to tell lies. 














 



Rahul Gandhi seems to have tough luck when it comes to  translators as in 2019, Rahul Gandhi went on an election campaign recently to Pathanamthitta district in Kerala.  PJ Kurien mistranslated Rahul Gandhi words which went viral on social media. At one point, Rahul Gandhi said 'Will deposit Rs 72,000 in poor people’s accounts' Kurien translated it as 'Will deposit Rs 72,000 crore in poor people’s accounts'.
