The Supreme Court of India on Friday refused to entertain a plea seeking arrest of suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nupur Sharma over her remarks on Prophet Mohammad made during TV debate, news agency PTI reported.

President Draupadi Murmu To Launch Anti-TB Campaign 


President Draupadi Murmu will on Friday launch the 'Pradhan Mantri TB Free India Campaign' through the digital medium, which aims to make the country tuberculosis (TB) free by the year 2025.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called for making the country TB-free five years ahead of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goal at the 'Delhi End TB Summit' held in March 2018.


President Murmu will also launch the 'Ni-kshay Mitra' initiative which will be an important part of this campaign. The Ni-kshay portal provides a platform for donors to provide various types of support to people undergoing treatment for TB.


The three-tier support is Nutrition, Extra Diagnostics and Commercial Support. Only these donors will be called Ni-kshay Mitras. These can include public representatives, from political parties to corporates, NGOs and common people.
