A Congress delegation led by Rahul Gandhi will meet President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday over the violence in Tikunia village in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri district in which eight people were killed. According to the party, the delegation will submit a memorandum on the facts of the October 3 violence to the President.
The Power Ministry on Wednesday said that there was no outage on account of power shortage in Delhi.
"As per the information received from Delhi discoms, there was no outage on account of power shortage, as the required amount of power was supplied to them," a ministry statement said.
It stated that the maximum demand of Delhi was 4683 MW (peak) and 101.9 MU (Energy) on 11 October, 2021.
A factsheet on power supply in Delhi showed that there was no energy deficit in the city from September 26 to October 11.
On October 11, in Delhi, 101.9 million units (MU) electricity was available against a requirement of 101.1 MU.
The energy requirement and availability was same in Delhi from September 26 to October 10.
On Monday, energy availability was higher than the requirement.
It also showed that peak power demand and peak power demand met (supply) was also remained same during the period.
The discoms in Delhi had drawn less power than made available to them, as per the data.
It showed that NTPC (coal) offered 15.67 MU to Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (DDL) against the allocated 19.03 MU. But the Tata Power DDL had drawn 10.77 MU which is 68.74 per cent of the energy made available to it by NTPC (coal).

The prices of vegetables like tomato and onion have increased in the city's wholesale and retail markets, owing to crop damages in Karnataka and Maharashtra due to heavy rainfall and high fuel rates, vegetable traders said on Tuesday.
They said the price rise in the wholesale rates of vegetables was between Rs 10 and Rs 15 per kg; while in retail market, it was around Rs 15-20 per kg.
Vegetable traders indicated that these consumables may get dearer in coming weeks if similar situation continues.
Ramesh Sahu, a vegetable trader in Laxmi Nagar, said there has been a rise in the rates of tomato and onion.
"Now, tomato prices are ranging between Rs 50 and Rs 55 per kg, while it earlier used to be at around Rs 40 per kg. Similarly, onion prices have also been hiked and now, it is around Rs 50 per kg which used to be sold earlier at around Rs 35-40 per kg," Sahu said.

The price of compressed natural gas (CNG) in Delhi-NCR has been hiked once again by Rs 2.28 per kg, distribution company Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) announced on October 12. With the latest hike, price of CNG in the NCT of Delhi would be Rs 49.76 per kg, which will come into effect from 6 am on October 13.

India is doing well in terms of vaccinating its own people and this is certainly helpful in its economy, a top International Monetary Fund (IMF) official said on Tuesday as the global financial institution in its latest outlook projected 9.5 per cent growth rate for India in 2021.
"We don't have a change to our growth forecast for this year for India. I mean India came out of a very, very tough second wave and that led to a big downgrade in July but we have no change (in its growth rate projections) as of now," Gita Gopinath, Chief Economist of the IMF, told reporters during a virtual conference call on Tuesday.
A special court, hearing matters related to the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, will hear the bail petition of actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan and others on Wednesday. The case came to the special court after a magistrate's court rejected their plea on the ground that it did not have the jurisdiction to decide on the matter.
Khan and eight others were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on October 3, after a raid on a cruise ship a day before.
The Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has announced a hike in prices of both compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) in Delhi and neighbouring cities of Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and others. The hike has come into effect from 6am on Wednesday.
"With effect from 6 am on 13th October 2021, the CNG price in Ajmer, Pali & Rajsamand would be Rs. 65.02/- per Kg", the IGL announced on Twitter. "With effect from 13th October 2021, the PNG price in Muzzaffarnagar, Meerut & Shamli would be Rs. 38.37/- per SCM", read another tweet.
"The revision in retail prices of CNG and domestic PNG has been effected only to marginally offset the impact of increase in price of domestically produced natural gas and increased dependence on costlier R-LNG," it added.
