PM Modi To Give Appointment Letters To 71,000 Recruits At 'Rozgar Mela'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will issue about 71,000 appointment letters to new hires via video conference on Tuesday as part of the government's "Rozgar Mela" (employment fair), according to his office, news agency PTI reported.

The drive, according to the Prime Minister's Office, is a step towards achieving his commitment to giving employment generation highest priority. It is anticipated to be a catalyst in creating more jobs and giving youth meaningful opportunities for their empowerment and direct participation in national development.

75,000 individuals received appointment letters earlier in October.

At 45 sites throughout the nation, with the exception of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, where the Model Code of Conduct is in effect, appointment letters will be physically distributed.

He said that in addition to the categories of positions already filled, openings are also being made for instructors, lecturers, nurses, nursing officers, physicians, pharmacists, radiographers, and other technical and paramedical positions. The Ministry of Home Affairs is filling a sizable number of positions in various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).

Allahabad HC Adjourns Till Tuesday Hearing Of BJP MLA Saini's Plea Against Disqualification

The Allahabad High Court on Monday adjourned till November 22 the hearing of BJP MLA Vikram Saini's plea against his disqualification.

Justice Samit Gopal observed, "Learned counsel for the appellant submitted that he has filed an application for suspension of conviction of the appellant in the office on November 19, 2022, but the same is not on record." It is directed to trace out the same and place it on record by the next date of hearing on November 22, the judge said.

The high court on Thursday last suspended the sentence awarded by a lower court to the disqualified MLA in the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riot case. The court also had granted him bail in the same case.

Special judge, MP/MLA court, Muzaffarnagar had on October 10 sentenced Saini, who is an MLA from Khatauli in Muzaffarnagar, and 10 others to two years' imprisonment in a case relating to the riots.

The Delhi University Academic Council on Tuesday approved the proposal to hold postgraduate admission through the Common University Entrance Test from the next academic cycle. The change in the admission pattern of postgraduate programmes was proposed by a 10-member committee formed to “suggest a strategy” for PG admissions from 2023-2024, reported PTI.

Breaking News LIVE: I-T Dept Searches 30 Locations In Various Cities Of Jewellery, Real Estate Groups

The Income Tax department on November 17 conducted searches at over 30 locations in Patna, Dehri, Bhagalpur, Lucknow, and Delhi related to a few groups engaged in business of gold and diamond jewellery and real estate, said the Finance Ministry, adiding that evidence demonstrating evasion of income has been recovered, reported news agency ANI.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to express grief over the loss of lives in an earthquake in Indonesia's Java province. He wished speedy recovery for the injured and said that India stands with Indonesia in this hour of grief. 

"Saddened by the loss of lives and damage to property from the earthquake in Indonesia. Deepest condolences to the victims and their families. Wish a speedy recovery to the injured. India stands with Indonesia in this hour of grief," PM Modi tweeted. 

An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted Indonesia's Java leaving more than 160 dead and hundreds injured.
