PM Modi On Two-Day Visit To North East, To Attend Oath-Taking Ceremonies Of Three States
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to the North East from Tuesday, March 7, 2023, to attend the oath taking ceremonies of new governments in three states of the region – Nagaland, Tripura and Meghalaya, and will also take part in a cabinet meeting of the Assam government, news agency PTI reported.
Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta said Monday that Modi will attend the cabinet meeting during his overnight stay in Assam.
"All preparations are on for the Prime Minister's visit tomorrow. He will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the chief minister and his cabinet members at the Raj Bhavan," a senior government official told PTI.
In preparation for the visit, the city's security has been increased.
With 32 MLAs, the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance has claimed the northeastern state's right to form the next government.
According to Sangma, the NPP will get eight seats in the cabinet, while UDP, which has 11 MLAs, will get two, and the BJP and HSPDP, which each have two MLAs, will each get one seat.
ISRO Gears Up For 'Extremely Challenging' Experiment Of Controlled Reentry Of Aged Satellite
The "extremely challenging" experiment of controlled re-entry of a decommissioned orbiting satellite is being prepared by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), reported PTI.
Megha-Tropiques-1 (MT1), a low-Earth satellite developed by ISRO and the French space agency CNES for the purpose of studying tropical weather and climate, was launched on October 12, 2011.
The targeted re-entry zone for MT1, weighing approximately 1000 kilograms, was determined to be an uninhabited region in the Pacific Ocean located between 5°S and 14°S latitude and 119°W to 100°W longitude.
An ISRO statement noted that approximately 125 kg of onboard fuel remained unutilized at the mission's conclusion, raising the possibility of accidental breakup.
It was estimated that this fuel would be sufficient for a fully controlled atmospheric re-entry to have an effect on the Pacific Ocean island that was uninhabited.
Deorbiting to extremely low altitudes in order to ensure that impact occurs within a designated safe zone is one method of controlled re-entry.
