79 Cases Of H3N2 Influenza Reported As Of Now In Puducherry

A health official said on Saturday that Puducherry has reported 79 instances of influenza of the virus H3N2 subtype so far, PTI reported. 


The Union Territory's Director of Medical Services, G Sriramulu, noted in a press release that the number of H3N2 cases, a subtype of seasonal influenza, had been registered in Puducherry until March 4, however, there had been no deaths owing to the virus in the UT until now.


The official advised people not to panic and stated that the health department has made provisions at hospitals and primary health care centres to keep rising instances under control. Dedicated booths were set up in hospitals' outpatient departments (OPDs), and treatment was also offered for people who arrived with signs of the influenza virus, the report said. (PTI Input)

Delhi Police has apprehended three boys for harassing a Japnese tourist during Holi celebration, after the video of the incident went viral.


Police said, "The video pertains to the area of PS Pahar Ganj & pertains to the day of Holi. The girl is a Japanese tourist who was staying at Paharganj and has now left for Bangladesh. The girl has not made any complaint/call to Delhi Police or to Embassy."


"Three boys including one juvenile have been apprehended. They have confessed/admitted to the incident. They all are residents of the nearby area of Pahar Ganj and went that way in the enjoyment of Holi," they added. 


Police further said, "Action has been initiated against them under DP Act, however, further legal action will be decided on merits and in accordance with the complaint by the girl, if any."

BRS Leader K Kavitha To Appear Before ED On March 11


Kavitha Kalvakuntla, a Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) MLC, announced on Twitter on Wednesday that she will appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 11 in a money laundering case involving suspected anomalies in the Delhi excise policy.


“I will be appearing before the Enforcement Directorate in New Delhi on March 11, 2023,” Kavitha tweeted.


The 44-year-old legislator said on Wednesday that she will hold a day-long peaceful strike at Jantar Mantar on March 10 to encourage the BJP administration to present and pass the Women's Reservation Bill. She had stated that she would "completely comply with the investigating agency," but that owing to the dharna and predetermined appointment, she would "get legal advice on the day of attendance."


Amit Shah To Visit Hyderabad On March 11


On March 11, Home Minister Amit Shah is slated to visit Hyderabad for a day excursion to Hakimpet to attend an official activity of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). According to party insiders, he would also meet with Telangana's senior leaders to discuss the political situation and assess the programmes that have already been held and those that will be performed in the coming days before heading for Delhi on May 12.


Aside from that, Amit Shah is slated to meet with Telangana's senior BJP officials to discuss the political situation and evaluate the party's previous programmes. He will also go through the programmes that will be held in the coming days.


Amit Shah will leave Hyderabad on March 12 after completing his obligations there.


On the other side, the State BJP unit is making every effort to establish the government in Telangana following the impending assembly elections. The saffron party's prospects have grown, especially following its strong showing in the GHMC polls.
