Dubey and Joshi had filed notices against Gandhi following his Tuesday "Motion of Thanks on the President's Address," in which he commented on the Hindenburg-Adani controversy.

In their notices to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, both leaders of the BJP claimed that Gandhi's remarks were without foundation and that he made allegations that were "contemptuous, unparliamentary, and dishonorable."
