BJP To Stage Nationwide Protests Against Bilawal Bhutto's Remarks On PM Modi Today

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) condemned Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto's personal remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi as "highly shameful and derogatory" and said it will hold nationwide protests on Saturday.

"His remarks are highly derogatory, defamatory and full of cowardice and has been given just to remain in power and save the (Pak) government," the BJP said in a statement on Friday.

The ruling party said it will stage protests across all the state capitals on Saturday and its members will burn effigies of the Pakistan foreign minister.

"It is also aimed at misleading the world and divert global attention from Pakistan's collapsing economy, lawlessness and anarchy besides simmering differences in the Pakistani army, its deteriorating global relations and the fact that it has become a major sanctuary for terrorists," the BJP statement said.

Bilawal Bhutto's statement against PM Modi is "highly condemnable and totally uncalled for", the ruling party said.

The BJP further said that the kind of language Bhutto used is extremely reprehensible. It does not reflect the true spirit of statesmanship and it also crosses the limit of decency in public life.

Aftab Poonawala Moves Bail Plea In Delhi Court, Hearing Today

Shraddha murder accused Aftab Poonawala has moved an application in Delhi's Saket Court seeking bail in the matter.

Aftab is in judicial custody after police interrogation. His bail plea will be heard tomorrow, news agency ANI reported.

Previously, Police on Thursday claimed that they gathered some key evidence in the Mehrauli murder case, saying the DNA samples extracted from the bones recovered from a forest area and from the blood traces found at the house where Shraddha Walkar was murdered have matched with samples of her father.

The report was received from CFSL (Central Forensic Science Laboratory), Lodhi Road, they said, as per news agency PTI.

The evidence came over a month after Aaftab Poonawala was arrested for allegedly killing his live-in partner Shraddha. The police had recovered 13 bone pieces from the Mehrauli forest and its nearby area while searching for Shraddha's body parts.

MVA To Hold Protest March Against Eknath Singh's Govt On Dec 17

On Friday, Mumbai Police granted Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) permission to hold a protest march in Mumbai on December 17 against the Eknath Shinde administration and the state Governor, Bhagat Singh Koshiyari, for his controversial statement about Chhatrapati Shivaji.

The march will end in a gathering outside Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Maharaj (CSMT) station, where all prominent opposition leaders will address the public, including Shiv Sena (UBT) chairman Uddhav Thackeray. Sharad Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party, may attend the event.

MVA organisers declared on Thursday that the protest march will go forward regardless of whether permission was granted.

Addressing the Press conference Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday had said, “On this 17th Dec, we will hold a ‘Morcha’ from Jijamata Udyan to Azad Maidan in Mumbai against the current state government and demands to remove Maharashtra’s Governor, I appeal to all those who love Maharashtra to come together against those who have insulted the state.”
