Mild Earthquake Hits Himachal's Kinnaur District

A mild earthquake of magnitude 3.4 shook Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur district on Friday night. The epicentre of the earthquake was Chango Nichla near Nako in Kinnaur. The depth of the quake was 5 km (31.931 degree north and 78.638 degree east).

India's First Infantry Museum To Be Inaugurated In Mhow On December 16


The country's first infantry museum will open on December 16 in Mhow cantonment in Madhya Pradesh's Indore district, according to an Army officer.


Lieutenant Colonel Vikas Tripathi informed reporters on Saturday that final preparations for the opening of the Infantry Research Centre and Museum were underway at Mhow cantonment.


He stated that the museum would be launched on December 16 and will be available to the public on December 17.


The museum's construction is complete, and finishing touches are being applied to the structure and surrounding garden, according to Lt Col Tripathi, who is stationed at the location.


According to him, the museum will display the Infantry Corps' history from 1747 to 2020, preserving the sacrifice of courage and valiant troops through monuments, murals, and picture galleries.


According to him, the first phase of the museum has been finished, and construction on the second phase is now ongoing.


The museum, which will be located in a three-story edifice on two acres of land, will be erected in three parts, according to Lt Col Tripathi.


He stated that the history of the battles of Plassey, Saragarhi, Buxar, and the Indo-Pak conflicts of 1965 and 1971, as well as the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Subhash Chandra Bose, had been preserved.


Trials For Khelo India Youth Games On Dec 16


On December 16, trials for the selection of Punjab state teams for the Khelo India Youth Games basketball and kho-kho competitions will take place. The games will be conducted in Madhya Pradesh from January 31 to February 11, according to District Sports Officer Shaswat Rajdan.


The trials for the basketball boys' and girls' teams will take conducted on December 16 at Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana. The tryouts for the kho-kho girls' team will take conducted on December 16 at the Polo Ground in Patiala.


The trials are open to prospective players born on or after January 1, 2004.
