Another Cyclonic Circulation Likely To Form In South Andaman Sea On December 13: IMD

According to the India Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation is expected to form in the south Andaman Sea around December 13. On December 13-14, moderately widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rains is expected over Andaman and Nicobar. Meanwhile, another system is expected to form in the Bay of Bengal by mid-December, according to a study.

However, the storm is unlikely to become a cyclone. The fresh information comes after cyclonic storm 'Mandous' made landfall on Sunday night near the coast of Mamallapuram in neighbouring Tamil Nadu. The IMD said today that the remnants of cyclonic storm Mandous have established a Low Pressure Area.

"Depression (remnant of the cyclonic storm "Mandous" pronouncLow-Pressureous") weakened into a Well-Marked Low-Pressure Area over north interior Tamil Nadu and neighbourhood," India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a statement.
