India recorded 173 new coronavirus infections, while the active cases further declined to 3,913, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.

Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu To Take Oath As Himachal CM
The next chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and his deputy Mukesh Agnihotri will take oath on Sunday. The oath-taking ceremony will take place in the presence of top Congress leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi.
“We are feeling good. I am thankful to the people of the state and the party's high command. I will go to Shimla tomorrow," Sukhu's wife Kamlesh Kumari, after the announcement.
“I am thankful to Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and the people of the state. Our government will bring change. It is my responsibility to fulfil the promises we made to the people of the state. We have to work for the development of the state,” Sukhu, who headed the Congress campaign committee in Himachal Pradesh, said.
The oath-taking ceremony will take place at 11am, Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel.
It is to be noted that the newly elected Congress MLAs passed a resolution authorising the party's high command to choose their next leader.
Sukhu will be the second chief minister from Hamirpur district in the lower hills of Himachal and the first Congress CM from merged areas. The first was veteran BJP leader Prem Kumar Dhumal, who served as CM twice.
PM Narendra Modi To Visit Nagpur Today
In a bid to boost the country’s health research, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the National Institute for One Health in Nagpur on Sunday.
Notably, PM Modi will also inaugurate the Centre for Research, Management and Control of Haemoglobinopathies, aimed to research haemoglobinopathies and similar diseases in the country. The institutes are being set up keeping in view India’s efforts in boosting health research to serve the vulnerable populations.
The foundation stone for the National Institute for One Health, Nagpur and the inauguration of ICMR-Centre for Research, Management and Control of Haemoglobinopathies, Chandrapur, will be done by PM Modi in the presence of Dr Bharti Pravin Pawar, Minister of State, Health and Family Welfare and Dr Rajiv Bahl, Secretary, Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research.
