Victor Gao, spokesperson of the Chinese Communist Party, accused United States senator Nancy Pelosi of destroying the trust between China and the US and said Pelosi and her family will be sanctioned over her visit to Taiwan.

Displeased by US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan, China on Wednesday announced to halt the exports of Natural sand to the island, CGTN News reported, citing the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. US House speaker Nancy Pelosi arrived in Taiwan on Tuesday, despite Beijing's continuous security threats. Beijing maintained that Pelosi's visit is a serious violation of the one-China principle and the provisions of the three China-US joint communiques. It said the visit gravely undermines peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and sends a seriously wrong signal to the "separatist forces for Taiwan independence". Shortly after Pelosi landed in Taipei on Tuesday, she reaffirmed her country's unwavering commitment to supporting Taiwan's democracy and said this trip in no way contradicts longstanding United States policy on the self-governed island.

West Bengal Cabinet To Get '4-5 New Faces', Reshuffle
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will reshuffle the cabinet and four to five new faces are set to join her cabinet on Wednesday.
"Many of them are writing a lot. We don't have a plan to dissolve the whole ministry and form a new one. Yes, there will be a reshuffle. We lost ministers Subrata Mukherjee and Sadhan Pande. Partha is in jail so all their work has to be done. Not possible for me to handle alone," CM Mamata said earlier, as quoted by news agency ANI.
Sources in the ruling Trinamool Congress said this is likely to be one of the biggest reshuffles since the party came to power in 2011.
The cabinet reshuffle comes at a time when the party is under political opposition over the arrest of senior minister Partha Chatterjee by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the school job scam after the Trinamool returned to power in the state for the third time last year.
