BJP MLAs' Meeting in Chhattisgarh to choose Chief Minister

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Chhattisgarh is poised to conclude the suspense over the next Chief Minister as the newly-elected 54 MLAs gather for a crucial meeting on Sunday to elect the legislative party leader. The legislative party meeting, scheduled for Sunday, will witness the presence of the party's three observers - Union ministers Arjun Munda and Sarbananda Sonowal, and party general secretary Dushyant Kumar Gautam, along with BJP's Chhattisgarh in-charge Om Mathur, Union minister Mansukh Mandaviya, and party co-incharge for the state Nitin Nabin. State unit president Arun Sao affirmed the significance of the meeting, stating, "The BJP’s legislative party meeting will take place on Sunday." The decision is expected to bring clarity on the leadership in the state.

Amit Shah to chair Eastern Zonal Council Meet in Patna

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to preside over the 26th meeting of the Eastern Zonal Council in Patna on Sunday. The council, comprising the states of Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, and Jharkhand, will address several critical issues during the day-long meeting. The agenda includes discussions on the minimum price for various minor millets, infrastructure development, and water-sharing. Chief Ministers from the respective states, along with two senior ministers and officials, are expected to participate. The Eastern Zonal Council discussions are anticipated to cover significant decisions such as equalising the minimum support price of certain minor millet crops, releasing the National Framework for Sediment Management in 2022, and addressing various regional concerns.

Kejriwal and Mann to launch Doorstep Service Scheme in Ludhiana

Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann are set to launch a new citizen-centric scheme, 'Bhagwant Mann Sarkar Tuhade Dwar,' on December 10 in Ludhiana. The scheme aims to provide 43 services at the doorsteps of citizens, including certificates for birth, marriage, death, income, residence, caste, and more. Malwinder Singh Kang, the chief spokesperson of AAP's Punjab unit, outlined that almost all government services, excluding arms licenses, Aadhaar cards, and stamp papers, would be covered under this initiative. People can schedule appointments by dialing the helpline number '1076' and get their work done efficiently under this scheme.

'Several Questions Unanswered': Amit Shah On Caste Census

On the 26th meeting of the Eastern Zonal Council in Patna, Union Minister Amit Shah says "The meeting was good and several issues were resolved in the meeting. Committees were also formed for some issues. As far as the caste survey is concerned, it was decided when the BJP was a part of the Bihar Govt. When the resolution came, we were in support of this and we also supported the report that was given after the survey was conducted and the law was also passed in Bihar Vidhan Sabha but there were several questions regarding the survey which included giving priority to Muslims and some other communities. Several other backward caste delegations met the leaders of BJP, RJD and JDU. I urge a solution for all the questions raised on this survey..."
