This came subsequent to Japan discharging radioactive water on Thursday under its plans to decommission the Fukushima plant. The plant was hit by three meltdowns following a tsunami that hit the country in 2011, which was also the world's worst nuclear plant disaster since Chornobyl 25 years earlier.

One-Day Session Of Manipur Assembly
A one-day session of the Manipur Assembly will be held on Tuesday which is expected to discuss the issue of prevailing ethinic violence in the state. The state has been in the grip of violent clashes between the Meiteis and Kukis since May 3 in which oer 160 people have lost their lives and more than 600 injured. Manipur Assembly Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata Singh on Saturday said that the 4th session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly would be one day on August 29 and the present state situation would be discussed, according to an IANS report.
Election Commission To Visit Manipur
The Election Commission of India will be on a three-day visit to Mizoram to check poll preparedness ahead of assembly elections slated to be held in the next few months. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioners Anup Chandra Pandey and Arun Goel will be in Aizawl from August 29 to August 31, reported PTI quoting sources as saying. Assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Mizoram and Rajasthan are likely to be held in October and November. The commission had last week visited Chhattisgarh to update itself on the poll preparedness there.
Islamabad High Court To Announce Verdict On Imran Khan's Plea
The Islamabad High Court will on Tuesday announced the reserved verdict on former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's plea challenging his conviction in the Toshakhana case. A divisional bench of Islamabad High Court judges, comprising Chief Justice Amer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri has reserved their verdict in the case on Monday after hearing both parties’ counsels. The bench said that it would announce the reserved verdict at 11 am on Tuesday, as per a PTI report. The 70-year-old Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf chairman was sentenced to three years of jail over the matter.
