All temples in Maharashtra will to be reopened from October 7 - the first day of Navratri: Maharashtra Chief Minister's Office (CMO) announced.


All religious places in the state will reopen while observing all COVID safety protocols.





Americans fully vaccinated with Pfizer can receive booster shot 6 months after second dose: US President Biden

The majority of Americans who were fully vaccinated with Pfizer can receive a booster shot at least 6 months after their second shot. This includes people over 65, those with underlying medical conditions, and those in frontline jobs: US President Biden announced, as reported by ANI.

Karnataka: Cinema hall, auditoriums to operate with 100% capacity from Oct 1

Karnataka govt issues order instructing that cinema hall, auditoriums will operate with 100% capacity from Oct 1 while adhering to COVID norms and taking minimum one dose of vaccine. Night curfew will continue to be imposed in the state from 10 pm to 5 am from Sept 25.


Pubs are permitted to operate from October 3. Classes from 6th to 12th std are permitted to operate for 5 days a week with full strength in districts with a positivity rate less than 1%. Strict surveillance at border posts in districts adjoining Kerala and Maharashtra to continue, Karnataka govt announced, as quoted by ANI.

UPSC declares final result of Civil Services Examination 2020, Shubham Kumar secures top position

UPSC has declared the final result of the Civil Services Examination, 2020. A total of 761 candidates have been recommended for appointment, news agency ANI reported. 


Shubham Kumar has secured the 1st position. He has graduated in B Tech (Civil Engineering) from IIT Bombay. Jagrati Awasthi is the topper among the women candidates securing an overall Second rank. She has graduated in B Tech (Electrical Engineering) from MANIT Bhopal, UPSC informed.


The top 25 candidates comprise 13 men and 12 women. The recommended candidates also include 25 persons with Benchmark Disability (07 Orthopedically Handicapped, 04 Visually Challenged, 10 Hearing Impaired & 04 Multiple Disabilities).

Schools in Maharashtra from class 8 onwards to reopen from October 4.


"The schools in Maharashtra will reopen from October 4. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has approved this, the task force and health department have also approved the decision of reopening schools in the state": Varsha Gaikwad, Maharashtra Minister for School Education, said.


"In rural areas classes will resume from std 5th to 12th and in urban areas from std 8th to 12th. Govt is making efforts to bring back children to schools. Local authorities have been given powers," she added.


Maharashtra Minister for School Education further informed that "students will come to schools only with consent of their parents, attendance will not be made compulsory for any beneficiary scheme or exam. Students will be able to receive education through both online and offline mediums. Our content is available on YouTube too".

VP Kamala Harris met with PM Narendra Modi to reaffirm the strategic partnership between the US and India.  They discussed the COVID-19 pandemic and collaborative efforts to respond and recover, including cooperation on vaccine production under the Quad Vaccine Partnership, the White House stated.


The Vice President welcomed India’s commitment to resume vaccine exports and the progress of its domestic vaccination campaign. The Vice President and Prime Minister Modi agreed that ambitious action to combat climate change was imperative in the face of the climate crisis, it informed.

Breaking News LIVE Updates September 24, 2021: The Defence Ministry on Thursday sealed a contract to procure 118 Main Battle Tanks (MBTs) Arjun for the Indian Army at a cost of ₹ 7,523 crore, in a major move to boost its combat capabilities.


The defence ministry placed the order for the Arjuna Mk-1A tanks with the Heavy Vehicles Factory (HVF), Avadi, Chennai.


The MBT Mk-1A is a new variant of Arjun Tank designed to enhance fire power, mobility and survivability, infused with 72 new features and more indigenous content from the Mk-1 variant.
