Police have launched an investigation after a three-year-old girl was allegedly beaten up at a creche cum daycare centre in Thane district and registered a case against three persons, an official said on Wednesday, as reported by news agency PTI.
He stated that an FIR was registered under section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon or means) of the Indian Penal Code against a couple who operate the daycare facility in Dombivali and another woman after a video went viral. The accused allegedly tied up the children as punishment and also hung them upside down, as per the FIR.
Advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai moved a defamation suit against TMC Leader Mahua Moitra for allegedly making defamatory statements on various media including electronic media as well as social media handles.
The Delhi High Court issued summons to TMC leader Mahua Moitra and others defendants.

A 32-year-old CRPF jawan allegedly shot himself dead using his service rifle in Jharkhand's Chatra district on Wednesday, an official said.
The incident happened at a CRPF picket of 190 battalion in the Vashisth Nagar area, around 200 km from Jharkhand's capital Ranchi.
Confirming the incident, the CRPF Commandant of 190 battalion, Manoj Kumar said that the family members of the deceased jawan have been informed about the incident.
The deceased was identified as Nihal Singh, who was posted as a driver.
A resident of Dausa in Rajasthan, Singh had returned from leave on February 3, Kumar said.
He said that Singh had joined the CRPF in 2015 and had joined the 190 battalion in 2022. (PTI Input)
The Budaun police on Wednesday shared the details of the FIR lodged in connection with the double murder case where a barber hacked two children to death and hurt a third one in the district's Baba Colony. The accused Sajid entered the house of the victim and killed the two siblings, aged 11 and 6 in an axe attack after which the situation remained tense in the area as the agitated locals created a ruckus and vandalised and set fire to vehicles.

Nominations For First Phase Of LS polls In UP To Begin On Wednesday
Nominations for the first phase of the seven-phase parliamentary elections in Uttar Pradesh will begin on Wednesday, an election official said.Eight parliamentary constituencies in Uttar Pradesh -- Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina (SC), Moradabad, Rampur and Pilibhit -- will vote in the first phase of the Lok Sabha polls on April 19.According to the Election Commission, the notification for the polls will be issued on March 20, while March 27 is the last date for filing of nominations.
The scrutiny of nominations will be done on March 28 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is March 30. The counting of votes will take place on June 4, the Election Commission said.This time the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has announced to contest the elections alone while the Samajwadi Party has formed an alliance with the Congress and both parties are part of the opposition INDIA bloc.The Rashtriya Lok Dal has joined hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance.In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 62 seats and its ally Apna Dal (S) two seats, decimating the SP-BSP alliance.
