Cop Injured While Cleaning Weapon At Police Post In Ram Temple Complex

A provincial armed constabulary (PAC) commando was injured in an accidental firing while cleaning his weapon at his post in the Ram Janmabhoomi complex here on Tuesday evening, police said. Platoon commander Ram Prasad (50) was rushed to the Ayodhya medical college, from which he was referred to KGMU Lucknow as his condition was said to be serious, they said.


The commando has been posted at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya for about 6 months for security duty. Inspector General of Police Pravin Kumar told PTI that the commando was injured while he was cleaning weapons at his post.


Dr Vinod Kumar Arya, emergency in-charge of the medical college in Ayodhya, said the bullet hit Ram Prasad on the left side of his chest. Since his condition was serious, the commando had to be referred to KGMU in Lucknow, the doctor said. Prasad is a resident of Achalpur village in Amethi district. (PTI Input)

LS polls: UP CM Adityanath to interact with intellectuals in 15 districts from March 27-31


Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will interact with people in different districts through meetings with the intellectuals and present a complete account of the work done by the government to them in the run up to the Lok Sabha elections. The meetings with the intellectuals are going to start from western Uttar Pradesh, where elections are also going to be held in the first few phases. Through these conferences scheduled till March 31, the chief minister will establish dialogue with the people here and will once again prepare the electoral ground for the resolution 'Phir ek baar Modi sarkaar'.


According to the programme released by the BJP, Adityanath will cover 15 districts in five days from March 27 to 31. His meetings with the intellectuals will start on Wednesday from Mathura, Meerut and Ghaziabad, where he will interact with the prominent citizens as well as the common people. According to a statement, the chief minister's programme is proposed to be held in Bijnor, Moradabad and Amroha the next day.


AAP, BJP take to streets over Kejriwal's arrest; Delhi HC to hear CM's plea Wednesday


The AAP took to the streets on Tuesday over the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal with its leaders and workers trying to march towards the prime minister's residence before being stopped while the BJP held counter protests demanding the Delhi chief minister's resignation.The Delhi High Court will on Wednesday hear a petition by Kejriwal challenging his arrest by the ED in a money-laundering case linked to the alleged excise policy scam.During the day, Kejriwal issued a new order from ED custody to Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj to address shortage of medicines and diagnostic tests at mohalla clinics and hospitals in the city. This is the second direction issued by the chief minister from ED custody.Sources in the Enforcement Directorate on Sunday said the agency would probe whether these directions from the arrested chief minister were in line with the special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court's order issued to the ED and Kejriwal during his custody period.


As the Aam Aadmi Party leaders and supporters gathered near Patel Chowk Metro Station to move towards the prime minister's residence in Lok Kalyan Marg, AAP leader Gopal Rai alleged that the way the central government has imposed restrictions under section 144 across the city, it seems Delhi has become a police state
