Breaking News LIVE: Indian National Shot Dead By Australian Police After He Stabs Cleaner, Threatens Police Officers

A 32-year-old Indian national Mohamed Rahmathullah Syed Ahmed was on Tuesday shot dead by Australian Police after he allegedly stabbed a cleaner and threatened police officers with a knife, The Sydney Morning Herald reported. The Indian Consulate General in Australia identified that the attacker was from the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and was living in Auburn on a bridging visa.


Detectives are investigating whether mental health played a role in the incident. According to detectives, Ahmed stabbed a cleaner and then threatened police officers with a knife before being fatally shot by the police.

PM Modi To Address Post-Budget Webinar On 'Urban Planning, Development And Sanitation’ On 1 March: 


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver a post-budget webinar on the theme 'Urban Planning, Development, and Sanitation' through video conferencing on March 1, 2023, at 10 a.m., according to a release from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.


The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs will lead the webinar. Discussions on budget announcements relevant to various themes will take place in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation. Leading NGOs, civil society organisations, worker associations, financial institutions, urban planners, and public authorities, including Safai Mitras, will participate in the webinar and share their perspectives, according to the statement.


Repoll In Four Polling Stations In Nagaland On Wednesday:


The Election Commission announced on Tuesday that voting will take place on March 1 in four polling sites across four assembly constituencies in Nagaland.


The EC made the decision after considering all "material circumstances" and reports presented by General Observers.


The polling station polling on February 27 at New Colony S/W in Zunheboto constituency, Pangti V in Sanis, Jaboka Village in Tizit, and Pathso East Wing in Thonoknyu has been declared void, according to the poll panel.


The repolling will take place between 7 am and 4 pm, according to the EC order.


Budget Session Of Chhattisgarh Assembly To Start Today:


The budget session of the Chhattisgarh Assembly will begin on Wednesday, and the budget for 2023-24 will be tabled on March 6, according to Speaker Charan Das Mahant.


It would be the Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government's final budget session before the state returns to polls at the end of 2023, as per a report by PTI. 


According to the report, the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said it would put pressure on the government over a variety of issues, including the "deteriorating" peace and order situation.


The session will begin on Wednesday with Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan's address, followed by the postponement of the motion of thanks on the Governor's address, according to Mahant at a press conference, the report said.
