The Madhya Pradesh government will work to relocate the Prime Meridian, the line of longitude that serves as the global time reference, from Greenwich, England, to Ujjain, the state's newly elected chief minister Mohan Yadav said on Thursday during a speech in which he railed against widespread "westernisation," Hindustan Times (HT) reported. Answering the governor's assembly at the state assembly, Yadav stated that his administration will "prove that Ujjain is the global Prime Meridian," and that he will work to "correct the world's time."
Speaking with media, Rai stated: "This is their issue but it is a fact that in the INDIA Alliance, the way Congress has behaved with Nitish Kumar is being realised by him now. He has gone there with the greed of being the PM but it is never going to be fulfilled. Lalu Yadav showed him dreams and took him with the Congress. Now the result is clear."

Karnataka to Withdraw Ban on Hijab in Educational Institutions Today

Speaking at the inauguration of three police stations in Nanjangud, Mysuru district, the Chief Minister emphasized that choices related to dress and food are personal and should not be subject to undue restrictions. Addressing the crowd, Siddaramaiah took a swipe at the BJP, accusing them of sidelining those wearing caps, burqa, and sporting a beard despite their slogan of 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas' (Cooperation of all, Development of all).
Responding to a query from the audience regarding the hijab restrictions, Siddaramaiah clarified, "No (restrictions). You can wear Hijab. I have instructed (the officials) that there will be no restriction from tomorrow onwards. You can wear and eat whatever you want. It's up to you." He added, "Your choices are yours and my choices are mine. It's that simple." Drawing a parallel with his own attire, he said, "I wear dhoti and kurta, and you wear pant and shirt. It's your choice. What's wrong in this?"
